Andy Georgeson

Dr. Andy Georgeson was born in Philadelphia and raised in Bridgewater, New Jersey. As a young boy, he wanted to be the first ever professional baseball player and paleontologist!
Dr. Georgeson’s passions continued as a biology major, with minors in exercise science and classical studies, at Penn State University. He then attended Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, PA, where he met his future wife on the first day of orientation.
Dr. Georgeson and his wife moved to Pittsburgh to completed their pediatric residencies at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. They live in Lawrenceville with their newly adopted dog, a pitbull/great dane mix.
Dr. Georgeson’s favorite places to play in Pittsburgh are watching baseball games at PNC Park, walking through Phipps Conservatory, and going on hikes in the Laurel Highlands. He enjoys playing pick-up basketball and ultimate frisbee in leagues throughout the city. His other hobbies include board games, hiking, cooking, baking bread, and reading historical fiction.
Dr. Georgeson’s professional interests are in adolescent health, sports medicine, and early childhood development (including promoting early reading and free play), and he’s passionate about preventative care and promoting wellness and curiosity in children.
