Amy Maddalena

DO, FAAP, IBCLC (BFC Medical Director)

Dr. Amy Maddalena graduated from Grove City College with a degree in biology, then went on to Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Maddalena is a board-certified pediatrician and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. As medical director of the Breastfeeding Center of Pittsburgh, Dr. Maddalena provides support and management to all aspects of the Center to ensure the best quality of services are provided. She also provides breastfeeding medicine education to other clinicians within our area and beyond.  Dr. Maddalena has been practicing since 2006, and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics as well as the American Osteopathic Association.

Dr. Maddalena enjoys reading, gardening and cooking. She is active in her church, where she teaches Sunday School for preschoolers.

At home she enjoys spending time with her husband and four active, breastfed boys.
