Jill Wilson

MA, IBCLC

Even at a young age, Jill Wilson loved babies and children. This love led her to pursue a bachelor’s degree and teaching certificate in early childhood education from Carlow University.

After obtaining her degree, Jill spent 6 years teaching preschool until the birth of her first child, Carlyn.

After the birth of her daughter, Jill realized that she loved breastfeeding just as much as she loved babies. She continued to have an equally positive experience with breastfeeding her second baby, son Finnegan.

In 2010, Jill began working for Early Head Start, where she helped promote, educate, support, and normalize breastfeeding for underprivileged women. In 2012, she enrolled in a graduate program in lactation studies from Union Institute and University. A requirement of her studies was a 300-hour clinical internship, which she completed here at the Breastfeeding Center. Jill graduated in September 2014 with a Masters of Arts degree and officially joined the Breastfeeding Center team in October 2014. She became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant in 2015.

Originally from Johnstown, Jill has called Pittsburgh home for more than 10 years. She enjoys spending time with her children, getting a sweat on with Zumba classes, reading, cooking, and feeding her creativity with craft projects.
